Abbeyfield Garrad House - Kings Langley

Abbeyfield's Garrad House is a supported sheltered home in Hertfordshire for older people who would like to share a retirement home with others whilst maintaining their independence; and who would like their meals cooked and their home maintained for them.

A small group of residents are supported by professional staff who ensure the house is comfortable, clean and safe. Residents can live independently while knowing that there's someone there in case of emergency. All rooms have an emergency alarm service. A range of optional social activities are offered, thanks to the involvement of a team of volunteers.

From Spring 2012 we have two new apartments each with a lounge, a separate bedroom and a wet room.  Please click here to see plan.

Because we know that moving home is a very big decision, we offer cut-price trial weeks to help you make up your mind. Holiday stays are also sometimes available for a few days or weeks.

Purpose-built Garrad House is not-for-profit retirement housing. We offer rented accommodation in a friendly supported sheltered home, rather than a care home. This makes it the best choice for older people who enjoy their independence but would appreciate more support and companionship at this stage of their lives.

Abbeyfield's Garrad House is in the village of Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, between Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.  We are near the village centre with shops, doctors' surgeries etc. Kings Langley  has a mainline train station to London and the North, and is 2km from Junction 20 of the M25, making it easy to visit. Visitors are welcome, and we can usually help with arrangements for them to stay overnight or in the local area.
